Modelling

A miniature Lloydminster

The BordeRrail modeling group plans to create a reasonably accurate model of railways in Lloydminster.  We plan to work in HO (1/87th) scale using theExternal link opens in new tab or window Free-mo standard for modular layouts.

Free-mo was developed with the idea that a set of standards focusing mainly on module endplates would enable faithful modeling of prototype trackplans and operations in a modular environment.  Free-mo was also developed to allow "modules whose trackwork and scenery reflects prototype practices as much as possible. We are here to build plausible/BELIEVABLE scenes that are realistic, and provide an environment in which we can choose to operate trains in a realistic fashion".

For a copy of the current Free-mo standard as used in Alberta and Saskatchewan, please contact a group member
